    Dr Gopal K Sarangi is an economist with more than ten years of research and consulting experience. His primary areas of research cover business models for energy interventions, financing of renewable energy, regulatory and policy issues of energy sector, socio-economic issues interfacing energy and climate change. His recent research focus has been on developing sustainable business models for decentralized energy interventions and understanding and analyzing strategic policy and regulatory response of energy sector to climate change. He completed his PhD from TERI School of Advanced Studies and MA (Economics) from Ravenshaw University, Odisha. He has contributed as PI, Co-PI, and team member to several collaborative projects. To his credit, he has published in several peer-reviewed research papers with specific thrust on energy and climate change issues and has been invited to deliver talks in several national and international forums. He teaches courses on managerial economics and environmental economics in the MBA programmes at TERI School of Advanced Studies. He has received several prestigious awards and grants like UNEP travel grant to participate in the Risoe International Energy Conference 2011, Denmark; DAAD scholarship to visit FFU Berlin as a guest researcher for a period between 10 August to 10 October 2009; 'Exchange Scholar Award' under OASYS project to visit University of Dundee, Scotland as a guest researcher during 12 December 2012 to 15 December 2012. He has also conducted a short course on 'Financing of Renewable Energy Technologies' in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi, held during 12 December 2012 to 15 December 2012, participated in the 'Marie Curie Training Course on the Human Dimensions of Global Environmental Change' at Freie University, Berlin, Germany, during 4- 13 October 2010, participated as a young scholar in the CPRsouth-4 Conference held on 7-11 December 2009, Colombo, Sri Lanka and attended the Workshop on Productivity and Efficiency Measurement, 2 -4 January 2009, conducted by IGIDR, Mumbai.
