About PhD Colloquium

The world and its societies are facing multi-pronged crisis: economic, ecological, social and political. The crises are however inextricably associated with specific socio-political structures, typically with marked economic and policy orientations and legal frameworks. The resolutions of the crises require comprehensive understanding of development that brings to the fore competing perspectives of diverse segments of the society and polity. This requires interactions pertaining to development concerns that transcends conventional disciplinary paradigms and jargons.

The aim of the PhD Colloquium is to facilitate interactions and discussions to inform how these crises are interconnected and in what form sustainable and equitable responses could be devised in a specific socio-political, economic and ecological context.

The Colloquium is organised by the Department of Policy Studies of the TERI School of Advanced Studies (TERI SAS). The Colloquium intends to bring the (PhD) Research Scholars from diverse specializations, across institutions in India, with a marked orientation towards Social Sciences.
