Objective:
 
Renewable energy technologies are expanding rapidly across the globe, enabling energy access, energy security as well as meeting the climate goals. The sector is evolving rapidly, in terms of policies, regulations, project development practices and grid integration mechanisms. Indian Government has made ambitious plans of setting up 175 GW renewable energy capacity. This shall provide for immense job opportunities across the value chain, for which appropriate skilling and training of professionals would be a pre-requisite.

In this regard, TERI School has been running a Post-Graduate Diploma Programme in Renewable Energy, in distance education mode, designed to facilitate flexible, self-paced and value-oriented learning environment. The pedagogy includes blended learning format – using online platform for dissemination of study material and face-to-face expert sessions. The learning outcomes include assessing renewable resources, choosing appropriate technology (solar, wind, hydro, biomass), undertake project design and feasibility analysis, besides analyzing sectoral policies.
