This compendium of 21 postgraduate student-led position papers examines the science, policy, and practice dimensions of sustainability in a comprehensive volume through rigorous, student-driven research. Structured around the four key thematic areas, the volume delivers student-led insights on:

Key Thematic Areas

The students’ position papers showcase a range of methodologies, from life cycle assessments and spatial analyses to econometric modelling and stakeholder interviews, and are marked by analytical depth, clarity, and rigor. Together, the papers present postgraduate student’s thoughtful engagement with real-world constraints and actionable perspectives for academics, practitioners, and policymakers.

The compendium addresses pressing challenges such as aligning Bihar's crop production with nutritional needs; restoring wetlands in the Sundarbans through nature-based solutions; assessing climate risks in India’s built environment; and optimizing agrivoltaic systems for enhanced carbon sequestration.

Funded by the Emerson Electric Co. (India) and led by Emerson CoE for Sustainability Studies, this compendium embodies the collaborative ethos between academia and industry, fostering the next generation of sustainability leaders.
