Abstract:

GE Power & Water’s Distributed Power business is a leading provider of power equipment, engines and services focused on power generation at or near the point of use. It has its business spread across continents and currently serves about 177 countries globally through its diverse product portfolio.

In the South Asian region, the company primarily focuses on India and Bangladesh and wanted to tap emerging markets in this region. For this, the business development team at Distributed Power, GE India, began understanding the business opportunities, starting with understanding the Bangladeshi market first, with plans to next understand the Indian market. Since this project is in its initial stages, this report covers the work done so far. i.e. the first phase out of the three proposed phases.

The project report primarily focuses on understanding the NGLs/Alternate fuels market in this region and ensuing opportunity for DP (if any). This report also talks about the current market scenario, basic infrastructure required for transportation of NGLs and the players/potential partners identified by DP, GE India, with which next round of deliberations would be carried out soon.
