Abstract: Electricity Demand and consumption need to be balance to make the electricity grid stable and maintaining power quality, to balance the equation generation at any point of time need to be equal to demand for any point of time. Electricity is the finest source of energy as it can be transform almost into any form. However, benefits comes with drawbacks as electricity can be used at the same time it is generated or store the electricity in chemical/mechanical/heat form, storage of electricity required a huge investment This project is carry out to estimate the future generation capacity required based on forecasted demand.
To develop the model for Rajasthan seeing the glorious target of renewable energy set by ministry of new and renewable energy for 2022, each state is allocate certain amount of targets for each technology, prime objective of this model is to meet the specific renewable energy target by 2022 and fulfill Rajasthan’s contribution towards 175GW target.
In this project, a detailed evaluation of solar resource assessment in Rajasthan, India, is carry out with the help of Global information system (GIS) tools and applications. Detail assessment consist of resource availability, technology and economics of the system, which can be deploy in the region of Rajasthan. Current policy analysis for all the previously mentioned factors is carried out to correlate the factors, which are mentioned in the policy and actual scenario on the ground regarding economics of the system, capacity utilization factor (CUF), and availability of grid infrastructure for deploying a solar power system.
After gathering all the result starting from resource availability to theoretical power generation from the plant, brief analysis for current conventional power generating units is carry out, to prepare a detailed energy system outline for a year stating the generation, load connected, import and export in the region of Rajasthan.
In this energy-modelling project, 2011-12 is consider as base year and all the performance, generation, load details are acquired for this year. Model lifetime is for next ten years, fulfilling the solar energy target is set by MNRE for 2021-22, each year is consider as milestone year to monitor the power requirement, installation and requirement of import/export of electricity between Rajasthan and rest of the India.
