Abstract: The use of solar energy for electricity generation has increased many fold in the recent years
worldwide. This is a boon for clean energy sources, but as solar energy depends on weather,
which is chaotic and cannot be predicted accurately, there comes some inherent issues
complared to conventional sources of energy (which are predictable).
Keeping this in mind, this study focusses on present techniques and methods available for solar
power forecasting specifically for day ahead.
