Abstract: Effect of irrigation with wastewater (Treated and Untreated) from Sargasan and Jaspur STP plant station on wheat crop as enrichment factor of nutrients in soil and wheat plant in Gandhinagar district, Gujarat was selected. The sampling was divided in four phases –I (STP outlet), II (Agricultural fields irrigated with three sources of water), III (irrigated Soil with three sources) and IV (Crop parameter analysis). The use of wastewater is seen in eight villages of Gandhinagar district that included- Sargasan, Adalaj, Tarapur near Sargasan STP plant and other five villages as Jaspur, Sabaspur, Karoli, Moti Bhoyan and Ishwarpura. The analysis of results have been analysed on the basis of water quality parameter of agricultural fields showing treated wastewater quality equivalent to the groundwater quality when compared with irrigation water quality standards. The effects of untreated and treated wastewaters and groundwater irrigation on soil was analysed by nutrient analysis in soil. Great changes in soil properties due to USW and TSW were observed. Lastly, mineral content of wheat crop was analysed which showed very less uptake of nutrients from soil due to environmental factor and chemical composition of soil.

Keywords- STP, Sewage, untreated, treated, wheat, groundwater, soil.
