Abstract: The term “Sustainability” is echoed frequently in the spheres of research, academics and even corporates. But the challenges lied not only on the accountability, transparency and innovation part but on overlooking the untapped human resource and lack of companies to incorporate the domain of sustainability into their DNA. This is in turn has resulted on creating a dialogue between the different disciplines of a firm such as marketing, operations, finance on how to imbibe those principles as per their strategic fit; albeit it has just been tingling on those brains who stay at the top in the hierarchy. The middle level management and especially the bottom level are unaware of this big picture. For them, sustainability is just what trending as a buzzword in companies and increasing their burden on routine work. The job that I performed was to create a sustainability training module & toolkit in which employees at plant levels would be able to understand what the term sustainability in totality holds; how their work is inter-related and how they can contribute to the scale which is even larger than this company, i.e. the planet. This module will brief them, interact with them and would open their mind towards the concept in general as well as in industrial context. And how exactly as per the global standards and frameworks – their company is marching towards the set goals.
