Abstract:

Design Analysis of the Solar PV power plant consists of PVSyst designing of an existing PV plant with the same parameters taken at the time of actual designing, then comparing energy generation of Design and the Actual energy generation of solar PV plant for a given site and the major loss in the given scenario. The comparison is done on the basis of 1-year data, from 1st April 2018 to 31st March 2019. The major loss in the comparison is Grid Outage loss, which shows 3-7% loss variation throughout the year.

Cleaning Analysis of a solar PV power plant was done. Cleaning is the most important element of the Operation and Maintenance; the cleaning is done by the O&M team at the site. It is generally done three to four times a month, except in the rainy season. In rainy season, the panels are cleaned automatically during rain, which decreases the number of cleaning cycles in a rainy month. The main purpose of the analysis is to calculate the number of cleaning cycles in a month for better generation. The setup for the analysis is done for 24 racks or strings which are being cleaned every day. The generation of these 24 racks then compared with the 24 uncleaned racks or normally cleaned for 3-4 cycles within the same plant. These generations will give the Revenue. These losses of uncleaned racks, when reaches the 80% of the amount of one cleaning cycle, the reminder will be given to the site incharge of the site to start the cleaning cycle. If the site incharge delays then it will lead to actual revenue loss by the plant, which will decrease the net revenue of the 24 racks and the plant. In this analysis, the revenue loss is calculated if the panels are cleaned every day and the feasibility of cleaning the panels every day. The analysis is done for a period of four months from 1st January to 30th of April in which, it is found that 3-4 cleaning cycles are needed for best energy generation and the losses are due to the delay in the cleaning cycle. In four months, the generation loss is 1487units and revenue loss is Rs.7675 when compared with everyday cleaned racks.
