Abstract:

Child Sexual Abuse is a dark blot in the colorful part of a human being’s life. It is a crime, which can only be anticipated by barbaric minds. India over the years has witnessed a massive growth in the criminology of the phenomena. Forms of offenses like pornography, voyeurism is at peak and children remain being the victims. There is a need for a serious crackdown on the offenders and this subject should be openly deliberated on national platforms so that people are aware of its causes, consequences and other associated aspects of the dynamics of it further destigmatizing it on both rural as well urban India. Sexual predators target young children because they believe that they can get away with it without any implications. The strictest of laws must be in place with even stricter punishments to curb these crimes. CSA should not be normalized. Attaching shame to the victim is the biggest mistake that our society continues to commit even in this day and age.Children being young are very scared and become the victims in such vulnerable situations. The trauma endured by the child is beyond conception. It is crucial that best of best care is provided to the survivors and this study focuses on understanding the rehabilitation process of Child Sexual Abuse survivors in India and tracing the gaps in the existing interventions.
