Dr. Amritpreet completed MSc in Biotechnology from Amity University in 2009. She joined The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in October 2010 as a Project Associate and worked on isolation, purification and biochemical analysis of microalgal strains using GC-MS and HPLC for 1 and half years. She completed her PhD in Life Sciences (Specialisation: Algal biotechnology) from TERI-Deakin Nanobiotechnology Centre in 2016, under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Alok Adholeya, Prof. Peter Hodgson and Prof. Colin Barrow. She has been passionately involved in microalgal research for over 5 years in the area of microalgal biodiversity studies, research in the field of Bioprospecting and Biorefining of algal metabolites for food applications. This included research into the development of method for simultaneous production and enhancement of lipids and carotenoids under one and two stage systems in cells of microalgae using multiple stress factors (Frontiers in microbiology 2016; 231 citation, Bioresources technology, 2016; 43 citation, Biomass and Bioenergy 2020; Bioresources technology report 2020; 1citation).
