Abstract: The problem of waste is increasing day by day and has become nightmare for the stakeholders. Municipalities or towns need an integrated approach of whole problem and then look for the solutions based on technological, managerial & financial. The challenges faced by the municipalities pertains to investment in sophisticated technology for small town (class 2). Thus, leading to the failure of the project or sudden halt on waste management services. This study is based on the field study conducted in Tinsukia, Assam. Study seeks for the available technologies which can be best suited based on the geographical location, size of town, type of waste generated, capacity of waste generator to pay for the MSW services. This study also lays emphasis on the feedback from the waste generators which has further been used to develop financial cases.
