Abstract:

Ayurvedic items, popular due to their complete focus on health, must strictly meet safety requirements to look after consumer well-being. The objective of this work was to verify the safety of Ayurvedic supplements and foods against the rules set for food microbiology safety.

To achieve the required accuracy and healthiness, every part of the process from sample taking to analysis was performed using the standard SOPs. Microbial testing was performed by diluting samples and streak and pour plating were also used. We identified different bacterial strains using tests including MRVP and Gram staining. To carry out microbial enumeration, we use SCDM for bacteria and CYGA for fungi. While lactophenol blue test for the morphological assessment of fungal cells.

The analysis targeted screening of common harmful microbes found in herbal products such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella typhimurium, Staphylococcus aureus and Aspergillus niger, to see if they could harm people. Detection and confirmation of these organisms were made accurately by using specific culture and biochemical tests.

Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the Ayurvedic pharmacopeia of India (API) were followed for the manufacture of all products. Using these frameworks ensures that making products is always safe and consistent. The study makes clear how vital routine microbiological testing is for Ayurvedic product manufacturing. By protecting these items from bacteria, the industry looks after public health, customer trust and the company’s market reputation. Because more people now prefer natural health products, it is very important to keep high quality standards throughout the industry.
