This study explores a UK-India bilateral collaboration centered on the theme of leadership development for Indian women in STEM. The study evaluates the impact of the collaboratively developed and implemented leadership training programme for Indian women. Guided by the UN Women Responsive Evaluation Framework, this evaluation study finds firm ground in the ideas of gender equality, soft skill development, equity and active stakeholder participation. It aims to highlight the relevance, effectiveness, coherence and impact of the training programme in a climate marked by increasing evidence on gender-responsive trainings. Literature review and data analysis reveal leadership of women as a key investment for a future where challenges are expected to cross geographical boundaries. With STEM re-surfacing as a vital discipline in post COVID-19 years, this evaluation shows promise and potential for planning of similar initiatives in the future. As the present cohort reports an increase in confidence and career advancement opportunities post the leadership trainings, this study also explores the path for sustainability of similar leadership trainings in the future.
