Dr Swarup Dutta is an Anthropologist and joined TERI School of Advanced Studies as Assistant Professor. Earlier he worked as Consultant in Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Ministry of HRD, Government of India. He holds PhD in Social Anthropology and has profound research experiences in various national and international development organizations. He, along with Professor SK Thorat, Chairman ICSSR and Former Chairman, UGC, and Dr Samar Verma (IDRC, Canada) have edited a Book titled "Social Science Research in India: Status, Issues and Policies". Recently, he has been nominated as Fellow of Royal Anthropological Institute, Great Britain and Ireland. He was also an Associate Fellow in Council for Social Development, New Delhi. His research interests lies in Sustainable development, Agricultural Anthropology, Environmental Anthropology, Tribal and Dalit issues. He has been a visiting Faculty in Department of Environmental Studies, University of Delhi; and National Museum Institute of History of Arts, Conservation and Museology, Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
