The session on Disaster Law, People and Climate Contingencies by Prof. Amita Singh provided a humanistic lens in terms of how care and compassion can be translated into law. She drew a parallel between war and disaster and how the focus of international humanitarian laws and human rights laws focuses on humanity as a primordial unit for the existence in the world. Prof. Amita's reflection on the Principle of Subsidiarity was a food for thought for the students of public policy and law.
